Ian R Brown Associates Ltd (IRBA) is an independent New Zealand-based consulting company formed by Dr Ian Brown in 1985. IRBA has been providing specialist professional services to a wide range of clients locally, nationally and internationally across varying fields of geology and engineering. 

The company has a team of professionals with expertise and experience in geology, geotechnical engineering, geophysics, GIS and UAV (drone) services. 

Projects that IRBA have worked on over the years are wide and varied, including local and national government agencies, private land developers, commercial strengthening projects, horizontal infrastructure asset owners and insurers. 

IRBA utilises the 3D slope stability analysis software TSLOPE, owned and operated by TAGAsoft, of which Dr Ian Brown is the Managing Director. Three-dimensional modelling offers significant advantages over standard two-dimensional modelling.
